Kanye has officially announced that he’s cutting ties with Nike and partnering with Adidas, as Nike wouldn’t grant the hip-hop star royalties because he’s not a professional athlete. With daughter North & fiance Kim K. in mind, Kanye said “I took the adidas deal because I have royalties and I have to provide for my family.”
Given this recent turn of events, at the moment it’s unclear whether or not the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red Octobers” will still go on sale.

This collab is being deemed the "knock-off"/"bootleg" collection, as each piece was inspired by Versace counterfeits that M.I.A. found in the streets of East London as a teen. How does Donatella feel about this collection being inspired by fakes? New York Daily News reports, "I love the energy of the street, so when M.I.A. suggested we use bootlegs of Versace, I thought it was such an incredible idea," said Versace boss Donatella Versace. "The collection is everything that I love about the new Versus Versace - it’s fast, loud, unafraid, and brings together the worlds of music and fashion. I can’t wait to see people wearing the collection."
